Genius Annotation

“Old Yellow Bricks” is the 11th song on the Favourite Worst Nightmare (2007) album. The song is about a young girl leaving her hometown to move to New York City. It makes many references to “The Wizard of Oz” and how leaving from all you’ve known may be thrilling at first, but later on you may realize that departure was the wrong decision.

This song really drives home the saying of “There’s no place like home”.
