Let the golden age begin
The Golden Age is about acceptance. That is to say, accepting the circumstances of a relationship that has dissolved. If you follow Sea Change, it takes you on a journey of his experiences in this relationship. It starts with the words “Put your hands on the wheel” until the end of the journey with the album’s closing track Where It’s At.
The album record reads like a metaphor for his relationship with his fiancée, stylist Leigh Limon, and the end of their nine-year relationship. Three weeks before Beck’s 30th birthday, he discovered Limon had been cheating on him with a member of Los Angeles-based band Whiskey Biscuit.
Beck, with his former fiancée Leigh Limon.
