Come together right now over me
Verse 1: About George
Verse 2: About Ringo
Verse 3: About John
Verse 4: About Paul
“Abbey Road” was the LAST album they recorded together before they broke up.
“Come Together” is what they could no longer do, partly because there was a power struggle between Paul and John. John was the leader of the band, but, Paul started to take over. You can see this in “Let It Be"documentary
With Paul at the helm, they lost cohesion. Instead of the combo, they were four separate individuals, with their own paths. They lost that common bond they had under John. He’s probably saying, they could go back to making music if they “come together over John.”
This isn’t a far-fetched interpretation, when you consider the subsequent snipes between Paul and John over the next ten years.
John’s “How Do You Sleep”
followed by Paul’s “Let me Roll It” support the acrimonious resentment they held years later over the leadership of the band, and how it fell apart.
