Scene Nine: Finally Free Lyrics

[Intro: Hypnotherapist (spoken)]
"You are once again surrounded by a brilliant white light
Allow the light to lead you away from your past and into this lifetime
As the light dissipates you will slowly fade back into consciousness, remembering all you have learned
When I tell you to open your eyes, you will return to the present, feeling peaceful and refreshed
Open your eyes, Nicholas."

[Instrumental Break]

[Verse 1: The Miracle]
Friday evening, the blood still on my hands
To think that she would leave me now
For that ungrateful man

Sole survivor, no witness to the crime
I must act fast to cover up
I think that there's still time

[Pre-Chorus: The Miracle]
He'd seem hopeless and lost with this note
They'll buy into the words that I wrote

[Chorus 1: The Miracle]
"This feeling inside me!
Finally found my love, I've finally broke free
No longer torn in two
I'd take my own life before losing you!"

[Instrumental Drum Outro]

[CNN report:]
"News in London, France, Russia and Italy have deleted their lead story
All anticipating the outcome of the man considered to be a member of American nobility
And as you can imagine, as the skies have grown darker
Here over Washington
The mood has grown darker as well and people here are
Beginning to resign themselves to the possibility that they are
Witnessing yet another tragedy in a long string of misfortunes
Reaction from everywhere, from Washington and certainly
From around the world has guess--"

[Hypnotherapist (spoken)]
"Open your eyes, Nicholas!"

[Nicholas]
AAAH!

Genius Annotation

In the ninth and final scene we learn more informations, of which however Nicholas remains in the dark, due to awake by hypnotherapist before he can visualize them.

The disk concludes with Nicholas who, unaware of these last particulars, returns to home thinking to be finally free by obsession which tormented him. Now he’s ready to continue his life, no longer shared with the Victoria’s one, aware that, before or latter, the two will be destined to meet.

At this point the piece is termined and the disk continues with ambient noises which describe Nicholas in the act of relaxing: at first he turns on the TV and then starts to listen a disk. In that moment the hypnotherapist’s voice is heard that says him: “Open your eyes, Nicholas!”. Nicholas emits a gemit of pain, while the turntable needle, bumped by Nicholas with a rash act, slides to the end of the disk and provocates a long swish with which the album concludes.

The hypnotherapist, the reincarnation of Edward (the Miracle), rushed Nicholas’s home and killed him before he could know, and so tell, the truth about the tragedy of Echo’s Hill.

As for the tone, “Finally Free” draws on melodic and progressive sounds.

Genius Answer

I remember I was playing the chorus chords for ‘Finally Free’ repeatedly upstairs in the studio and then when I walked downstairs, James had been listening and started to sing this nice melody… That was it! Perfect.
