(Let's slow it down)
Let’s slow it down… R-Kelly has a beautiful voice and Lady Gaga made a great choice featuring him in this song. His R&B hip-hop/soul style fused with Gaga’s sultry pop vocals and eletro- synth production equals AMAZING.
In this song she bravely speaks about her experience as an artist. She talks about the music industry and the sexualization of women. But she boldly states “you can’t have my heart and you won’t use my mind, but do what you want with my body; you can’t stop my voice cause you don’t own my life, but do what you want with my body.” So even if people have tried to take advantage of her, they could never take away her essence.
“Do you know how much dirt I ate? Do you know the men I had to crawl through, the people that disrespected my body, my mind, my heart?” -Lady Gaga, Elle magazine October 2013
It is also a great message to the media- “write what you want say what you want ‘bout me, if you’re wonderin’ know that I’m not sorry.” She’s not sorry for standing up for what she believes in, and the papers can write whatever the want about her, she will continue on.
And finally, as a little monster, I can feel a message to us in “Sometimes I’m scared I suppose if you ever let me go, I would fall apart if you break my heart. So just take my body, and don’t stop the party.” She lives for her fans and if she were ever to lose them she couldn’t bear it so she gives them all of herself to keep that relationship.
GaGa please pick me I want to dance with you at ARTRAVE!
