So, you are the Christ, you're the great Jesus Christ Prove to me that you're no fool - walk across my swimming pool If you do that for me, then I'll let you go free C'mon, king of the Jews!
Hey! Aren't you scared of me Christ? Mr Wonderful Christ! You're a joke, you're not the Lord You are nothing but a fraud Take him away - he's got nothing to say! (Spoken) Get out, you king of the Jews! Get out of my life!

King Herod’s sarcastic mocking of Jesus sung by Mike D'abo, who was the lead singer from 1966 to 1969 of Manfred Mann, well known for Mighty Quinn.
The song itself has different styles, from the slow introduction to the gay “so you are the Christ…” parts, accentuating the ridicule in the lyrics.
The song’s melody had previously been used as “Try It and See” by Rita Pavone, a song written as a potential entry for the U.K. in the 1969 Eurovision Song Contest. However, after the song was rejected, it was reworked into “King Herod’s Song” (though its original providence is referred to in the subtitle).
