7 Minutes in Heaven (Atavan Halen) Lyrics
[Verse 1: Patrick Stump]
I'm sleeping my way out of this one
With anyone who will lie down
I'll be stuck fixated on one star
When the world is crashing down
[Pre-Chorus: Patrick Stump, Brendon Urie]
I keep tellin' myself, I keep tellin' myself
I'm not the desperate type
But you've got me looking in through blinds
I keep telling myself, I keep telling myself
I'm not the desperate type
[Chorus: Patrick Stump]
Sitting out dances on the wall
Trying to forget everything that isn't you
I'm not going home alone
'Cause I don't do too well
Sitting out dances on the wall
Trying to forget everything that isn't you
I'm not going home alone
'Cause I don't do too well on my own
[Verse 2: Patrick Stump]
The only thing worse than not knowing
Is you thinking that I don't know
I'm having another episode
I just need a stronger dose
I'm sleeping my way out of this one
With anyone who will lie down
I'll be stuck fixated on one star
When the world is crashing down
[Pre-Chorus: Patrick Stump, Brendon Urie]
I keep tellin' myself, I keep tellin' myself
I'm not the desperate type
But you've got me looking in through blinds
I keep telling myself, I keep telling myself
I'm not the desperate type
[Chorus: Patrick Stump]
Sitting out dances on the wall
Trying to forget everything that isn't you
I'm not going home alone
'Cause I don't do too well
Sitting out dances on the wall
Trying to forget everything that isn't you
I'm not going home alone
'Cause I don't do too well on my own

About
Genius Annotation
In February, 2005, Fall Out Boy bass player and primary lyricist Pete Wentz tried to kill himself by overdosing on the anti-depressant Ativan, which explains the subtitle “Atavan Halen”. (It should be noted that the drug name is purposefully misspelled in the title.)
The phrase is also a play on “Van Halen, which is fitting, as the song’s opening guitar riff’s shares similarity with the Van Halen style.
Brendon Urie, lead singer of Panic! at the Disco and Stump alternate singing the chorus.
Here is Wentz explaining the incident:
