Zack is of Mexican ancestry himself. Many Mexican-Americans are forced to perform menial labor, such as driving a taxi cab, because it’s the only job they can get given their economic situation. A hearse is a vehicle used to transport the casket from the site of the funeral service to the graveyard. Thus, Zack is saying that jobs such as a taxi cab driver and beneath the Mexicans and are contributing to the death of their once proud heritage.
