Teleport 2 Me, Jamie Lyrics

[Verse 1: Kid Cudi]
Getting in from the airport
You getting in from the study group

The only thing missing at this point
Is bona fide chillin' time with you
I can't stand the times when I'm alone at night
And I feel your side of the bed and it’s cold (Hey, hmm)
Wide awake, I don't know the time
'Cause I'm too busy texting you on my phone
Saying

[Chorus; Kid Cudi & Desire]
I want you girl, I need your body right here (Pa-ra-ra, pa-ra, pa-ra-ra, pa-ra, pa-ra-ra, pa-ra)
Won't you teleport to me? (Pa)
I want you girl, I need your body right here (Pa-ra-ra, pa-ra, pa-ra-ra, pa-ra, pa-ra-ra, pa-ra)
Won't you teleport to me? (Pa)
I want you girl (Pa-ra-ra, pa-ra, pa-ra-ra, pa-ra)
Right here, right here (Pa-ra-ra, pa-ra)
Won't you teleport to me? (Pa)
I want you girl, hmm (Pa-ra-ra, pa-ra, pa-ra-ra, pa-ra)
Right here, right here (Pa-ra-ra, pa-ra)
Won't you teleport to me, baby? (Pa)

[Post-Chorus: Kid Cudi]
Na-na-na, na-na-na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na, hey-hey
Na-na-na, na-na-na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na-na-na, hey-hey
[Verse 2: Kid Cudi]
You call out to me through the light
I know you must be close
The moment when I realize it's all in my mind
The moment I hate the most
Somebody help me, does anyone care?
Can anyone hear me? Is there anyone there?
I'm over the loneliness and I can't close my eyes
Without you by my side

(Pa)

[Post-Chorus: Kid Cudi & Desire]
Na-na-na, na-na-na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na, hey-hey (Pa-ra-ra, pa-ra, pa-ra-ra, pa-ra, pa-ra-ra, pa-ra, pa)
Na-na-na, na-na-na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na-na-na, hey-hey (Pa-ra-ra, pa-ra, pa-ra-ra, pa-ra, pa-ra-ra, pa-ra, pa)
[Outro: Desire & Kid Cudi]
Pa-ra-ra, pa-ra, pa-ra-ra, pa-ra (Hey, hey)
Pa-ra-ra, pa-ra, pa (Teleport to me)
Pa-ra-ra, pa-ra, pa-ra-ra, pa-ra (Right here)
Pa-ra-ra, pa-ra, pa (Won't you teleport to me, baby?)

Genius Answer

The song’s subject is about missing someone intensely and wishing that they would appear right where you are, which Kid Cudi and Dot Da Genius explained in an interview with Complex.

The song samples “Under Your Spell” by Desire. Cudi explained to Complex how his fascination with the song came from the film Drive:

I was obsessed with Drive for a long time, and I remember hearing the soundtrack and the music and being like, “Holy shit, this is really genius.” I loved that movie, I thought that movie was perfect in every way.

So as I’m obsessing over this movie and watching it over and over, then I had the idea like, man, I need to flip that “Under Your Spell” joint … I’m gonna reach out to them and ask if we can have a session [because] if I’m gonna flip it, I need to be able to manipulate the music, and [for] me to do that, I need to get the pieces.

So I told Dot, and he reached out to Johnny Jewel. And Johnny Jewel was super-supportive. It was the coolest shit just to see someone be like, yeah, let’s do it.

Other than having your mate beside you or the soundtrack to the movie, Cudi and Dot explained that the new focus on technology gave them the thought of teleportation.

In the interview, Dot Da Genius interpreted:

We wanted it to sound, not forced, you know what I mean? Because the record was already out in the universe… People have heard it, and we didn’t wanna mask it.

Cudi also said that he got a rush from the song, which he explained:

I felt like the same rush that I had when I had “Day ‘n’ Nite” and shit with this record.
