Anne Frank and her family moved to Holland from Germany in 1933 when the Nazi’s gained power. They had to remain in hiding for two years starting from 1942 until they were betrayed and sent to concentration camps.
The diary she wrote dated until August 1st 1944, she died March 1945 of tyfus, along with her sister.
Her father survived though and was the one who found the diary she wrote when he returned home in Amsterdam.
