Bleed Black Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I am exploring the inside, I find it desolate
I do implore these confines, now, as they penetrate, "recreate me"

[Pre-Hook]
I'm hovering throughout time, I crumble in these days
I crumble, I cannot, I cannot find reflection in these days

[Hook]
(If you listen) Listen, listen
(Listen close) Beat by beat
(You can hear when the heart stops) I saved the pieces
(When it broke) And ground them all to dust

[Verse 2]
I am destroyed by the inside, I disassociate
I hope to destroy the outside, it will alleviate and elevate me

[Pre-Hook 2]
Like water flowing into lungs, I'm flowing through these days
Like morphine cuts through, through dead end veins, I'm numbing in these days
So...

[Hook]
(If you listen) Listen, listen
(Listen close) Beat by beat
(You can hear when the heart stops) I saved the pieces
(When it broke) And ground them all to dust
[Bridge]
I know what died that night, it can never be brought back to life
Once again, I know

I know what died that night, it can never be brought back to life
Once again, I know

I know I died that night and I'll never be brought back to life
Once again, I know

I know I died that night and I'll never be brought back to life
Once again, I know

[Hook]
(If you listen) Listen, listen
(Listen close) Beat by beat
(You can hear when the heart stops) I saved the pieces
(When it broke) And ground them all to dust
So...

(If you listen) Listen, listen
(Listen close) It dies beat by beat
(You can hear when the heart stops) I saved the pieces
(When it broke) And ground them all to dust

About

Genius Annotation

“Bleed Black” might be the beginning of our Reincarnation story. It is said that the album is a complete loop, and Miseria Cantare is not the true introduction to the story. Since it has references to heartbeats stopping, and to heavy breathing, we might be able to assume that this song is the “stitching”, or the transitional period between death and birth.

In the short film released with this album, Clandestine, Jade retrieves a box that appears to be a sacred theme throughout the film. It is imprinted with the same leaves on the album cover. He retrieves it from a bathtub in an empty house that is filled with a black fluid, which is a representation of “Bleed Black.” An intruder is after Jade, so in order to escape being discovered, he jumps into the tub and disappears. The intruder watches over the draining tub, to find no box, and no Jade.

The intro to this song has audible heavy breathing. This might be thought of as “Birth” in the cycle of reincarnation.
