About

Genius Annotation

The song is a social commentary of the “Rupert Murdoch” style TV and how the press tries to keep people scared. The recent acts of terrorism are mentioned such as the London Bombings and 9/11 which have been used as a tool for fear. This caused a “witch hunt” looking for the enemy among us, similar to those that occurred in the Medieval ages. This witch hunt is based on xenophobia and it causing increasing violence. The song eventually comes to the conclusion that fear will keep us in our place. Only rational thought will move us forward.
