Genius Annotation

A song dedicated to the former airline captain of U.S. Airways Flight 1549 Chesley Sullenburger, who on January 15, 2009, made an emergency landing in the Hudson River after geese flew into the plane’s engines, causing them to fail. Everyone on board was successfully evacuated. Sullenburger and his crew were highly praised for their heroism. Listening to the tenor of the song, it talks about a man who, in the face of tragedy and dystopia is able to rise above all odds and be a hero.

The song is most known for appearing on the soundtrack to the film, Drive, in which Ryan Gosling plays the rebellious protagonist that attempts to restore order into his girlfriend’s life.
