Florence is no stranger to covering songs, both hits and deeper cuts, and puts her own spin on Cold War Kids’s ‘Hospital Beds’. Florence’s take is much more stripped down, both instrumentally and lyrically, stripping both to their bare essentials.
She previously covered this song at Reading festival in 2008 and at Coachella in 2010 along with Nathan Willett, the lead singer of Cold War Kids. She described the experience in an interview with Under the Radar:
Well I just collaborated with Nathan from the Cold War Kids today on stage. He asked to sing with me, which was so exciting. They aren’t even playing and he asked to come play. We did “Hospital Beds.” That was really fun! It was the highlight of my festival, it was so exciting. I had a fun show.
