Sleepless Lyrics
On, on, on, on, on, on, on, on
On, on, on, on, on, on, on, own
On, on, on, on, on, on, on, on
On, on, on, on, on, on, on, own
On, on, on, on, on, on, on, on
On, on, on, on, on, on my own
[Chopped Verse 1]
Own, the way I want to be, be, t-tell me
The way I want to be-be-be, t-tell me
[Chopped Refrain]
On, on, on, on, on, on, on, on
On, on, on, on, on, on, on, own
[Chopped Bridge]
Been with, been with, been with, been with
Been with, been with, been with, been with
I, I, I, I, –ore, –ore, –ore, –ore
Been with, been with, been with, been with
Been with, been with, been with, been with
Like, like, like, like, I–I–I–I, I–I–I–I
Been with, been with, been with, been with
Been with, been with, been with, been with
I, I, I, I, –ore, –ore, –ore, –ore
Been with, been with, been with, been with
Been with, been with, been with, been with
Like, like, like, like, I–I–I–I, I–I–I–I (Tell me)
Them, them, them, –ore, you
–Ore–ore–ore, you
You, –ore, oh, no, no
Don't want no messages or late-night calls
–Body, all, –body, –ody at all
Them, them, them, –ore, you
–Ore–ore–ore, you
You, –ore, oh, no, no
Don't want no messages or late-night calls
–Body, all, –body, –ody at all
About
Sleepless was Flume, aka Harley Streten’s first single. It kicked the producer into the spotlight after he placed second in Future Classic’s young producer competition. The vocals, which have been spliced and remixed to create the beat, belong to Jezzabell Doran. Doran and Streten were bandmates in high school, and these vocals were originally recorded for another song. The song is reminiscent of summer, and has a hazy, festival-ready vibe.

The song samples another track by the same name, “Sleepless” by Antony for Cleopatra. They were an old band that featured both Flume and Jezzabell Doran. Initial releases of the song credited Antony for Cleopatra as the featured artist, although this was soon altered to highlight Doran’s vocals instead. The band is not to be confused with Antony & Cleopatra, an Australian duo who remains active to this day.
This was the tune that started it all for me. Future Classic picked it up about a year ago and ever since then things have been heating up.“ – Flume in a track-by-track interview with Pedestrian.
