Double Talkin’ Jive Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Found a head and an arm in the garbage can
Don't know why I'm here
Livin' on the run for oh so long
I gotta go collect

[Chorus]
Double talkin' jive, get the money, motherfucker
'Cause I got no more patience
Double talkin' lies
No more patience, man

[Verse 2]
Back in town, an' a all new friends
They sayin', "How you been?"
Fucked up, and out of place
That's how I felt back then

[Chorus]
Double talkin' jive, get the money, motherfucker
'Cause I got no more patience
Double talkin' liar (Lies)
No more patience, man
You dig what I'm sayin'?

[Guitar Solo]

Genius Annotation

Izzy Stradlin wrote the song after police found human body parts in a garbage can in the vicinity of their recording studio. It is a wonderful mixture of the energy of Appetite for Destruction and the experimentation of Use Your Illusion I and II.

Slash performs an extended Flamenco-style guitar solo at the end of the song. Live performances were stretched from its original three-minute length to more than eight minutes long.

During the Use Your Illusion tour, Axl Rose introduced “Double Talkin' Jive” after “Don’t Cry” by telling the audience:

Here’s a nice pretty song. It’s dedicated to all those who can’t keep their mouths out of your fucking business. Misery likes company so if you know someone like that, call them up and tell them from me that they are DOUBLE TALKIN’ JIVE MOTHERFUCKERS!
