St. Patrick’s Day Lyrics

[Chorus]
No way November will see our goodbye
When it comes to December it's obvious why
No one wants to be alone at Christmas time
And come January we're frozen inside
Making new resolutions a hundred times
February, won't you be my valentine?

And we'll both be safe 'til St. Patrick's Day

[Bridge]
We should take a ride tonight around the town
And look around at all the beautiful houses
Something in the way that blue lights on a black night
Can make you feel more
Everybody, it seems to me, just wants to be
Just like you and me
Hey, hey

[Chorus]
No one wants to be alone at Christmas time
And come January we're frozen inside
Making new resolutions a hundred times
February, won't you be my valentine?
And we'll both be safe 'til St. Patrick's Day

[Outro]
And if our always is all that we gave
And we someday take that away
I'll be alright if it was just until St. Patrick's Day

Genius Annotation

St. Patrick’s Day is about how usually when it gets towards the colder months of the year, people tend to get in to relationships because no one wants to be alone for the holidays; where companionship means the most. I.e: thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve, Valentine’s Day etc. But, St. Patrick’s Day marks the end of these holidays, and people look forward to the summer; which is often looked at as the time to be single. John has gotten close to this girl that was suppose to only last until around St. Patrick’s Day, but as the year progresses he really starts to like this girl and as the day gets closer, it becomes much more harder to let go of her.
