Firework Lyrics

Thank you, to you
No, really, all of you
For helping donate over $25,000 to Teach for America
And now, albeit a bit late
Here's something I've been promising you for quite a while...

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag
Drifting through the wind, wanting to start again?
Do you ever feel, feel so paper-thin
Like a house of cards, one blow from caving in?

Do you ever feel already buried deep?
Six feet under scream, but no one seems to hear a thing
Do you know that there's still a chance for you?
There's a spark in you

You just gotta ignite the light and let it shine
Just own the night like the Fourth of July

'Cause baby, you're a firework
Come on, show them what you're worth
Make 'em go "Ah, ah, ah!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

'Cause baby, you're a firework
Come on, make your colors burst
Make 'em go "Ah, ah, ah!"
You're gonna leave 'em all in awe, awe, awe
You don't have to feel like a wasted space
You're original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane, comes a rainbow

Maybe the reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will glow
And when it's time you know

You just gotta ignite the light and let it shine
Just own the night like the Fourth of July

'Cause baby, you're a firework
Come on, show them what you're worth
Make 'em go "Ah, ah, ah!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

'Cause baby, you're a firework
Come on, make your colors burst
Make 'em go "Ah, ah, ah!"
You're gonna leave 'em all in awe, awe, awe

Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
It's always been inside of you, you, you
And now it's time to let it through
'Cause baby, you're a firework
You know, let them see what you're worth
This song has been my mortal enemy for about four years now
I cannot and could not sing it!
And I'm gonna go home and never think about this again
Thank you

'Cause baby, you're a firework
Come on, show them what you're worth
Make 'em go "Ah, ah, ah!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

'Cause baby, you're a firework
Go on, show them what your color's worth
Make 'em go "Ah, ah, ah!"
And DinoCity is a ga-a-ame

About

Genius Annotation

JonTron originally covered a portion of Katy Perry’s “Firework” at the end of his “DinoCity BRO!!!” video in 2011, turning it into an ode to the game. Five years later, he released a full version for a Teach for America charity livestream. He promised that if his fans reached the donation goal of $25,000, he would sing the entirety of Katy Perry’s “Firework”. Originally releasing the cover on SoundCloud, they later took it down. On Valentine’s Day 2016, however, he re-uploaded the song on his main YouTube channel, with a music video animated by 22 different animators.
