Genius Annotation

“This is the Best Day Ever” is an upbeat track that tells the story of a pair who meets in a hospital. They are trapped there, but make plans to escape as seen in the final line,

And I just can’t stay
One day, we’ll run away!

“This is the Best Day…” was one of the first tracks recorded by My Chem, back in 2002 under Eyeball Records. Producer Alex Saavedra filmed the recording of the song, which can be found in a YouTube video.

Geoff Rickly—the other producer—did backing vocals in the track, as well as the band's future guitarist Frank Iero, who wasn’t part of the band at the time.

The line:

Someday, this day

Features everyone in the recording studio, minus John Naclerio, who was recording.
