“Bicycle Race” was released as a ‘Double A-side’ single with “Fat Bottomed Girls”. It was the first single from Queen’s 1978 album, Jazz.

The single was an international hit, reaching the top ten in four countries, and charting in four others.

According to The Ultimate Illustrated History of the Crown Kings of Rock, the song was inspired by his observing a stage of the Tour de France, a famous long-distance bicycle race.

The controversial official video features a bicycle race with nude women at Wimbledon Stadium. It was edited and banned in several countries.
