Lull Lyrics

[Verse 1]
You stop the crowd
I cried out to break the spell
You wake and smile
I just snapped and lost control

[Chorus]
Distracted by irrelevance
The stress and the tension
The stress and the tension
I'm in a lull

[Verse 2]
There's nothing more dull
Than talking, talking about yourself
But what I meant to say
I'm sorry that I lost control

[Chorus]
Distracted by irrelevance
The stress and the tension
Crawling through the keyhole
I'm in a lull

About

Genius Annotation

“Lull” was released in 1997 on the “Karma Police” single.

It can also be found on the Collector’s Edition of OK Computer.

A bright melody of Velvet Underground simplicity, Lull can be likened to Radiohead’s ‘No Surprises’, with an upbeat melody and yet somewhat sorrowful lyrics.

The song also features a xylophone played by Jonny Greenwood.

It’s one of several vague allusions to well-managed, strongly medicated depression… with a hint of frustration that real feelings are being locked up, as the singer shrinks to nothing: “Crawling through the keyhole… I’m in a lull”.

Radiohead has yet to play Lull live.
