Genius Annotation

A song about the self-destructive and private world the characters have created and the problems it causes, locking themselves away from society and family and trusting only one another until their relationship begins to fail.

From the second verse onwards, it can be interpreted from being spoken from either one of them; the nurse or the patient. Even in the line talking about throwing objects at the other. The narrator here may just be ‘Sylvia’ or the nurse that has previously been the narrator. The nurse may be outraged at Sylvia for doing this to him, but Sylvia recognizes its his “mistake”. This double narration is hinted at the title of the song, ‘Two’.
