What did The Black Keys say about "Unknown Brother"?
Genius Answer

“It’s about my brother-in-law who died of cancer when he was in high school. I’m not sure there could be another tone when making a song about mourning a young life being taken so soon.”

I was talking to Pat about it because he loved the song and we both have brothers, and we couldn’t imagine being 16 years old and losing your brother. And we had just gotten through a rough patch where Patrick Carney was coming out of his relationship and coming out of the fog and we were coming back together again after being away, so it just felt right.
