Genius Annotation

“Feeling Yourself Disintegrate” is a powerful song in spite of short lyrics. As Wayne Coyne put it:

“You must understand that you are in process of dying”.

In a 2013 documentary on The Soft Bulletin, Flaming Lips bassist and keyboardist Peter Ivins speculated that:

“Feeling Yourself Disintegrate” is what really was going on while the record was being made. With Wayne’s dad, going through his illness and passing away.
