How to Format Lyrics:

  • Type out all lyrics, even repeating song parts like the chorus
  • Lyrics should be broken down into individual lines
  • Use section headers above different song parts like [Verse], [Chorus], etc.
  • Use italics (<i>lyric</i>) and bold (<b>lyric</b>) to distinguish between different vocalists in the same song part
  • If you don’t understand a lyric, use [?]

“The Kids Aren’t Alright” is the third single from the album Americana.

Its title is an allusion to The Who song “The Kids Are Alright.”

In the video below, Dexter talks more about the song. One of the things that inspired the song was that someone from his neighborhood that he grew up with died from getting hit by a car.

Though the song plays B flat, G flat, D flat, and A flat, Noodles said if the song were to be transposed down a note, he could have done more with the songs.
