Where the Streets Have No Name Lyrics

[Chorus]
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name

We're still building then burning down love
Burning down love
And when I go there
I go there with you
It's all I can do

[Outro]
Our love turns to rust
We're beaten and blown by the wind
Blown by the wind
Oh, and I see love
See our love turn to rust
Ah, we're beaten and blown by the wind
Blown by the wind
Oh, when I go there
I go there with you
It's all I can do

The song peaked at #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #11 on Billboard’s Album Rock Tracks chart. It also topped the charts in Ireland and New Zealand.

“Where the Streets Have No Name” is known as one of U2’s most popular songs and the music video for the song features the band performing on a rooftop in Los Angeles, California. The video won a Grammy Award for “Best Performance Music Video.”

Fifteen years after the song’s release, U2 performed this song during the halftime show at Super Bowl XXXVI while the names of the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks scrolled behind him. It is considered amongst the best halftime performances in the game’s history.
