How Dare You!

Recorded between July and October of 1975 and released sometime in January 1976, the fourth album in the 10cc catalog is also the last of the original classic line-up of Eric Stewart, Lol Creme, Graham Gouldman & Kevin Godley. Lol & Kevin would unofficially leave in September that year and officially announce their departure that November.

The album features various mixes of songs, from beautiful to just plain odd. Graham Gouldman explains this in an interview made with UK magazine Melody Maker at the time of its release:

“It’s as different as any album by the same band can be, and I think it’s a progression from the last one. I think there’s been a progression on every album and I think we’ve done it again. It’s a strange mixture of songs. There’s one about divorce, a song about schizophrenia, a song about wanting to rule the world, the inevitable money song, and an instrumental.”
