Alkaline Trio’s sophomore album Maybe I’ll Catch Fire is the band’s attempt at a follow up album after the success of their debut album Goddammit and was released March 14th, 2000 under Asian Man Records. It was their last album to be released under Asian Man and their last album to feature the bands former drummer Glenn Porter.
According to a Vice interview with Matt Skiba, the band wrote the album in a Chicago basement over the span of two weeks. The album was met with favourable reviews and includes hits such as “Radio” and “You’ve Got So Far to Go”, which were both rerecorded as acoustic songs for their 2011 album Damnesia.
