Mother of Mankind

Andrew W.K.

About “Mother of Mankind”

Mother of Mankind is the third studio album released by Andrew W.K. The cover artwork features Andrew dressed as a woman, the mother, who many believe to be staring a TV in order to keep an eye on mankind.

The album consists of previously unreleased tracks, due to the release being one of two albums created during the complicated legal battles involving Andrew W.K. and STEEV MIKE, the anonymous producer that helped create Andrew’s career. Due to such issues, he was unable to make new music, and collected unreleased tracks to release as an apology to the fans.

Due to the previously mentioned legal issues, the album was not allowed to be released anywhere but Japan, where Andrew has a very large fan-base. The album was later included in the Close Calls With Brick Walls/Mother of Mankind double album.
