State of Euphoria is Anthrax’s 4th studio album, released on September 19th, 1988.
The follow-up to one of the greatest thrash metal albums of all-time, State of Euphoria had a tough time measuring up. Critical reception was slightly positive at best, although the cover of “Antisocial” by Trust was praised. However, fan reception was more favorable, as the album has spawned some of Anthrax’s most popular songs, such as “Antisocial,” “Be All, End All,” and “Now It’s Dark.”
State of Euphoria also maintains the lighthearted lyrical themes found in Anthrax’s previous two records, Among The Living and Spreading The Disease, while tackling very serious themes like racism, homelessness, and televangelism.
