The Essential Backstreet Boys is the third compilation greatest hits record released in 2013 of songs of their biggest hits through the years from each record that contained their biggest hit singles. The album was released two months later after they released their seventh studio album titled, In A World Like This in 2013 and it was their first record with Kevin Richardson back who took time off from the group as he went through personal stuff going on in his life, taking a seven year hiatus away from the group and reunited later.
