Black Dots consists of early recordings made in 1979, when Bad Brains was transitioning from their original incarnation as a jazz fusion band and developing the pioneering hardcore sound that would make them legendary. The songs were recorded in the fledgeling Inner Ear Studio in Don Zientara’s basement. They were collected and released as the Black Dots album in 1996.
