Blink-182 is the eponymously titled fifth studio album by American pop punk band Blink-182. Recorded throughout 2003, Blink-182 marks a departure from the band’s earlier work, infusing experimental elements into their usual pop-punk sound. Blink-182 was the band’s last recording with longtime producer Jerry Finn and their final original material before a four-year-long hiatus.

Is it a self-titled album? an untitled album?
Tom DeLonge said in an interview with MTV:
[all you’ll find on the cover is a smiley face and the band’s name] rather than seeing some phrase that’s supposed to sum up what the whole record’s about. I hate when bands have this one little thing and you think the whole record’s about whatever that title is or something, whether it’s funny or sad or deep. It’s like we’d rather it be: ‘This is our band, check it out.’

What have the artists said about the album?
Travis told billboard in 2019 about the artists and genres that inspired him in this record:
Self-titled was very inspired by the Transplants, which was very inspired by rap music and mixing genres. And I felt self-titled was very inspired by Box Car Racer, which was also inspired by post-hardcore guitars over kinda-rap beats played on acoustic drums. I guess in a sense it’s very similar.
