Cheshire Cat is the debut studio album by the pop-punk band Blink-182, which at the time was composed of guitarist and vocalist Tom DeLonge, bassist and vocalist Mark Hoppus, and drummer Scott Raynor. Produced by Otis Barthoulameu and the band themselves, the album was released on February 17, 1995.
The album was titled Cheshire Cat after the famous character from the Lewis Carroll novel Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, which was DeLonge’s favorite character. The cover art features a Siamese cat with intensely colored eyes. The photo originated from a calendar a salesman had left at DeLonge’s employer’s warehouse.
In the credits, bass and vocals are for Mark “Mr. Take Advantage Of Your Goat When You’re Not Home” Hoppus, drums are for Scott “Mad Dog” Raynor and guitar and vocals are for Tom “May I Check Your Prostate?” DeLonge.
