Tense Nervous Headache

Boy George’s sophomore solo effort took a different direction from his debut solo album “Sold”. The album was not as successful and George claimed he was unhappy with the production of this album as it was over-produced. George’s first single “Don’t Cry” became a commercial flop, or as he put in his 1995 autobiography, “Take It Like a Man”, “died a solitary death”. Once George was welcomed back to the US, he rearranged the album selecting six of the original tracks and recorded four new songs produced by Gene Griffin and Teddy Riley. The album in the US was released as “High Hat” in early 1989. One song from “Tense Nervous Headache”, “I Go Where I Go”, was released in the US as a B-side on one of his singles.
