A Modern Day Prodigal Son is the debut album from Brantley Gilbert. The album was originally released independently by Gilbert in 2005 with the first eleven tracks, but it was later re-released with tracks twelve and thirteen after Gilbert signed onto Average Joe’s Entertainment in 2009. The album would be re-released again when Gilbert signed onto the Valory Music Co.
No singles were produced from the album, however, The Best Of Me and My Kinda Party would be covered by Jason Aldean, with the latter reaching number 2 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in the US.
