Just Be Free is a demo album by American singer Christina Aguilera, released on August 21, 2001, via Warlock Records. The album was recorded between 1994 and 1995, when Aguilera was fourteen and fifteen, after she finished her run on The New Mickey Mouse Club (1993-1994).
After discovering that former producers Robert Alleca and Michael Brown would be releasing the album, Aguilera filed a lawsuit against Warlock Records and the affiliates, Platinum Recordings and JFB Music, for “improper use of her name and license on the upcoming album Just Be Free”. In response to her lawsuit, the record label filed their own lawsuit as an attempt to ensure the release of the album.
Aguilera eventually agreed to the release of the record after reaching a settlement with the label and its affiliates, under the condition that the label would have to feature a letter written by Aguilera herself for each album released.
As of November 13, 2015, the album is available on Spotify and Deezer.
