The Bones of What You Believe

CHVRCHES' debut album, The Bones of What You Believe was released on September 20, 2013 and was recorded between 2011 and 2013 by CHVRCHES in a collective effort.

The Bones of What You Believe brought CHVRCHES to the mainstream eye as songs like “The Mother We Share,” “Lies,” “Recover,” and “Gun” made their way up charts around the world. “The Mother We Share” was the most successful, hitting 12 on Billboard America’s Alternative chart.

Mayberry says the album’s title comes from the band’s track “Strong Hand”, and the meaning of that lyric has to do with the album’s figurative frame and foundation.
