About “Clear Lake Audiotorium”

Released in March 1994, six months after their third album Buhloone Mindstate, Clear Lake Audiotorium is De La Soul’s six-track promo EP featuring four tracks from Buhloone along with two new songs: “Stix & Stonz”–an homage to the old school posse cut featuring The Fearless Four, Grandmaster Caz, and Prince Whipper Whip–and “Sh.Fe.MC’s” featuring fellow Native Tongues crew members A Tribe Called Quest.

Initially, the EP was exclusively distributed to A-list DJ’s as the group only pressed 500 copies on CD and clear vinyl. “Sh.Fe.MC’s” was added to Buhloone Mindstate’s 30th Anniversary Digital Deluxe version in 2023.
