About “Elvis”

Elvis is the first live album by Elvis Presley, released on November 22, 1968, via RCA Victor. It serves as the soundtrack of the television special of the same name, informally known as the ‘68 Comeback Special, which helped to revive Presley’s popularity. It marked a change in direction for his career after the lack of success of his recent movies and their accompanying soundtrack albums, with his following efforts being focused on music, rather than movies.

The album peaked at #8 on the Billboard 200. It was certified Platinum on July 15, 1999, having sold over a million copies.

Two singles were released to promote the album: “If I Can Dream”, which peaked at #12 on the Billboard Hot 100, and “Memories”, which peaked at #35.
