Dance Fever (Deluxe) comes with 5 additional tracks to the standard version of the album: Cassandra (Acoustic), Free (Acoustic), Morning Elvis (Acoustic), My Love (Acoustic), as well as Search And Destroy.
In an interview with Spotify, Florence describes the inspiration behind the album:
The theme overall of the record – it’s an analysis of performance itself or what performance means to me and why I need to do it. Once the album was done I realized that I had created a fairytale. It’s a fable of someone questioning their relationship to performance. There is a character on this record which is the character of the song itself and I’m speaking to it all throughout and it speaks as well, but it’s in a monster voice. It might be me or it’s not me. So the song itself is a character on the record I’m in dialogue with all the time and it has its own creepy voice. Am I in love with it? Does it possess me? Is it a good relationship or a bad relationship? The fable of it is that you’re questioning your relationship to this performance creature and so it abandons you. And then the rest of the record is begging for it to take you back. So the whole thing is the fable or fairytale of being careful what you wish for.
