About “Antidotes”

The debut album from Foals, Antidotes, was released in 2008 and set the ground for what was yet to come in terms of critical success for the English band.

Four singles were released from the album: “Balloons”, “Cassius”, “Red Socks Pugie” and “Olympic Airways”.

Antidotes offers a new sound to the indie music scene, with clear pop and rock influences. Often linked to the math-rock genre, Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis disregards this idea, stating that:

I just think its pop music really, to be honest, or like dance. We try to make some of it more danceable with guitars. I just think its weird because its kind of slightly offbeat pop music.
