1,000 Hours is Green Day’s debut EP, released on May 26, 1989 through Lookout Records. It was recorded in 1988 while the band was still named Sweet Children, and released on vinyl two weeks following the band’s name change.
According to Billie Joe Armstrong, all of the songs on this EP are about the same girl.
All of the tracks were later included on the compilation album, 1,039/Smoothed out Slappy Hours, alongside Green Day’s second EP, Slappy, and debut LP, 39/Smooth.
