Belafonte is the second studio album by Jamaican-American singer Harry Belafonte, released on January 20, 1956, via RCA Victor. Henri René, who assisted in the production of Belafonte’s debut album, “Mark Twain” and Other Folk Favorites (1954), became the sole producer of the album.
Commercially, the album reached the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart, making it his first to do so. As with his 1953 debut album, “Mark Twain” and Other Folk Favorites, no singles were released.
