Wedding Album

John Lennon & Yoko Ono

About “Wedding Album”

Wedding Album is the third and final album in a series of avant-garde releases by the famous couple documenting their relationship.

The album is broken into two tracks each filling a full side of the vinyl it was released on. With Side A, John and Yoko signified their unity by calling out each other’s names with various emotional inflection for the maximum amount of time technology allowed. On Side B the couple returns to territory similar to their first two experimental albums with a recording of their Bed-In For Peace on their honeymoon.

The album was released as a box set with a number of inserts included with the goal of including the listener in their wedding e.g., a photo of a slice of their wedding cake, a copy of their wedding certificate, and a poster of John and Yoko kissing (which foreshadows the imagery the John would use for Double Fantasy and Milk And Honey)

The album was released in the same year as their second experimental album Unfinished Music No. 2: Life with the Lions.

In 1997, Yoko Ono added three bonus tracks on a CD re-release.
