Surfing the Void is the Klaxon’s sophomore album, released on August 23rd 2010. The album followed the release of the lead single, “Echoes”.
The album was intended to have a much more experimental tone, aliken to that of “Myths of the Near Future”, however it was denied by Polydor Records. The songs that were cut from the album by Polydor were later released on the EP “Landmarks of Lunacy”.
The album reached #10 on the UK Charts, and #15 on the ARIA charts, with criticism relatively favorable. The album cover also received Best Album Artwork of 2010.
