Transformer

Lou Reed

About “Transformer”

The 2nd album by New York rock and roll Warhol influenced artist Lou Reed. Released in the early 70s, Lou Reed had just left his former band, The Velvet Underground. With Transformer, Lou Reed got VU fan and influential glam rock artist David Bowie and Spiders From Mars guitarist Mick Ronson to produce and backup sing on the album. With classics like Walk On The Wild Side, Perfect Day, Vicious, and Satellite of Love, lots of people consider this to be Lou’s finest work and many (including Rolling Stone) have cited this as one of the greatest albums of all time. Lou Reed would later create classic albums such as Berlin, Street Hassle, New York, Coney Island Baby, Rock and Roll Animal, and Blue Mask.
