Sticky & Sweet Tour

Sticky & Sweet Tour is the third live album from Madonna. It was recorded at the River Plate Stadium, Buenos Aires, during the first leg of her Sticky & Sweet Tour (2008). It was produced by Semtex Films, Madonna’s own production company.

Released as DVD, Blu-Ray and CD, the album didn’t get much attention from Madonna, who was busy shooting her film, W.E. (2011). She stated:

I haven’t really been focused as much as I should be on the music part of my career because this movie has just consumed every inch of me. Between that and my four children, I don’t have the time or the energy for anything else. For example, I do appreciate that lots of people worked long and hard putting together things like the DVD of the Sticky & Sweet Tour that we just released, and I have seen the finished product, but I have got no idea how people are going to find out about it or how it’s going to be sold.

Peaking at #10, it was Madonna’s 19th top-ten album on the Billboard 200. The record was #1 in Greece, Hungary, Mexico and Portugal and reached the top-ten in Australia, Canada, Japan and in some countries across Europe.
