Angels Advocate [Shelved]

Mariah Carey

About “Angels Advocate [Shelved]”

Following the release of Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel in 2009, Mariah issued a press release that stated that she would release ANGELS ADVOCATE. The collection featured newly-remixed duets with some of her favorite artists performing songs from her #1 R&B album Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel. The album spawned two singles and music videos: “Up Out My Face” featuring Nicki Minaj, and “Angels Cry” remixed as a duet with Ne-Yo..

A MariahCarey.com newsletter also stated that duet partners include: Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo, Nicki Minaj,, Fabolous, R. Kelly, The-Dream & Ludacris, T-Pain & Snoop Dogg, Akon, Trey Songz, K-Ci & Jo Jo, and OJ Da Juiceman & OutKast’s Big Boi.

Unfortunately, after the release date was pushed back several times, the album was shelved. However, most of the collaborations have leaked or been released as bonus tracks on subsequent albums (Both the Mary J. Blige remix of “It’s A Wrap” and the R. Kelly remix of “Betcha Gon' Know” were included on the deluxe edition of 2014’s Me. I Am Mariah. The Elusive Chanteuse).
