Load is Metallica’s sixth studio album and featured a more blues and rock influence than on previous releases. Its cover features a mix of blood and sperm. Hence the album’s name, Load. Perhaps one of the most controversial Metallica releases, the band took tons of criticism from fans about their new sound. While it was rumored they would go thrash once again, this would not happen until the 2008 release of Death Magnetic. The singles choose were “Until It Sleeps,” “Hero of the Day,” “Mama Said” and “King Nothing.”
